What’s Happening?

Good day fellow writers. I’m excited about todays blog post! As promised, I will be dropping the name of my current work in progress (WIP). I will even let you in on my current suicide mission. Doesn’t that sound fun.

As stated before, I will be keeping a page updated with current WIP. But because I like to attempt to explain myself, I will more than likely make a post on it as well.

First up, the title of my book that I have been working on all summer. Working, 9-Kill will be a serious of books following assassins who are former military members who the government experimented on. These assassins have various abilities due to these experiments. I’m excited about this story and hope to have the first draft done within the next month or two.

I just finished a rough draft for a short story. This story will be submitted for a contest and is roughly 4,999 words. The max word count is 5,000 so I barely made it! The subject of the contest is “Misfits”. This story is a spin on the after math of the “Hook up” of Medusa and Poseidon. Depending on which story version, we know that what happen with Poseidon and Medusa, caused Athena to turn Medusa into the Gorgon creature we know her for. This story picks up right after Medusa is beheaded by Perseus, in which Chrysaor and Pegasus were born for Medusa’s neck. But in my twist there was also a daughter born and this is her story of how she doesn’t fit in with the other demigods.

Finally, November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), and with comes the novel writing challenge. From November 1-30, NaNoWriMo is a challenge to write a 50,000 word novel. Did you read that? The challenge is to write 50,000 words in 30 days! You can work on a current project or start something new. You can also do all your outlining, world and character building leading up to November 1st, but the words will not count until that day. So if your working on a current project that already had 20,000 words, those 20,000 words can not count towards the challenge. At first I had planned on using this to push through my current WIP, but writing this short story has made me want to flesh out this idea more. Honestly 5,000 words was not enough for Athela’s story. I don’t know if I every told you, but I am a huge mythology and world history lover, so this story speaks to the history nerd in me. But, I will update you on which story I work on for NaNoWriMo when it gets closer to the start date.

Well, that’s all I got for you word lovers today. The updates will be posted on the Current Project page of the website. I promise to keep you guys update on the progress of the projects. Until next time, get back to writing! That story won’t tell itself!
